School Expedition training is good for two years from date of completion of training and receipt by District of appropriate records. However, the State of Alaska Request for Driver's Record must be done annually. Before driving District Expeditions, drivers need to have completed the following training and have on file with the District the following records:
- ANNUALLY- A clean State of Alaska Request for Driver's Record at school before they can drive. Those forms are here in the school office and on the web site under Documents, and are attached here. You have to pay the $10 fee yourself, but the District reimburses upon receipt of a clean driving record. ***It is highly recommended to have them faxed back to the school at 683-2632.
- ONE-TIME EVENT- Have on record a cleared Consent for Background Check form through the District - the form is in the school office and on the website under Documents, as well as here, if you need it. This is the same form needed to volunteer at the school for any reason.
- Have a copy of your CURRENT Alaska Driver's license on file at the District Office.
- EVERY TWO YEARS - Successfully completed the online insurance test available through Connie Mattila. The online test is only 20 minutes. Please allow a week's lead time as she needs to get you set up.
- EVERY TWO YEARS - Complete the onsite training with the DBSD Board Policy Manual and the actual vehicle - this is normally done at group training sessions but can be done by Principal Pitt if necessary.
